SWTOR update 1.2 live tomorrow, won’t add Ranked Warzones

Thursday, 12th April 2012 02:10 GMT By Brenna Hillier

A much requested PvP feature for high level players has been pulled from this week’s Star Wars: The Old Republic content update.

Writing on the game’s blog, lead game designer Daniel Erickson said Ranked Warzones need more work before rolling out.

“In the future we’ll be rolling the Ranked Warzone Preseason out in phases, listening carefully to player feedback and making adjustments as we go,” he said.

“The first phase will be full team, eight-player queuing only and from there we’ll look at next steps as Preseason progresses. In the meantime we have provided an alternate purchase route for War Hero gear so you can start building your set while figuring out your teams.”

The update does contain an expanded Legacy system and brand new Warzone, operation and Flashpoint. It arrives on thursday, US time.

Thanks, Massively.

I was wondering about this simply because there were so many threads on the forums about issues with warzones/ranked and bugs. I was about to resub to see if they actually made improvements to warzones but clearly they havent.

I really wish that EA would stop forcing out updates when they clearly are not ready, just to satisfy their fucking investors instead of once thinking about the suffering player base.

To TOR or not to TOR… that is the question.

I am tempted to jump back on for a month and try out the new stuff but I just have this feeling it will be pointless as it looks like they have *added* good things but not really improved much of anything else.

It’s a tough choice as I recently jumped back into DCUO which I have to say, plays much better than any time previously. I would go as far to say it’s one of the best F2P MMOs out there.

This whole 1.2 affair has been a farce. Now, thanks to more ‘mis-communication’ those poor suckers who downloaded the update early must download the entire game AGAIN, despite muppet central saying yesterday that they wouldnt need to once the servers went live.

The patch notes are up(probably a miscommunication as well) http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes/2.0.0/legacy and honestly there is nothing here to make me come back.

I was looking forward to rated warzones but instead of introducing cross server support, they have just been lazy and increased all war zones to same faction v same faction, which is utter bollocks.

Their only open world planet – Ilum has been removed which leads me to believe that SWTOR is nothing more than a single player PvE pile of shit

Why are you posting here if you got nothing but crap to say whenever news about SWTOR shows up? None of us who actually enjoy the game cares what you think, just stop playing and keep your mouth shut about it. Go complain on their own Suggestion Forum on how to improve their game instead.

It’s people like you that give gamers a bad name.
