Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter will add Linux port at $1 million

Harebrained schemes won't forget our alternate OS brethren if RPG revival Shadowrun Returns brings in enough cash.

In an update to the Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter, the developer explained that while it has the necessary skills in-house to develop the Mac and PC versions, it will need to outsource a Linux port.

After gauging the Linux community's desire for a native version of the game and gaining support from Moai developer Zipline Games, Harebrained has decided to go ahead with a port if it can raise enough cash to cover the cost - namely, hitting $1 million in pledges.

The Kickstarter currently stands at over $800,000 with more than two weeks remaining.

Shadowrun Returns is planned as a 2D, turn-based RPG, under the guidance of Jordan Weisman, who created the pen and paper RPG of the same name which the franchise is based on. It's expected in early 2013.
