Ahahahahahaha :D Okay. Nice job CD Projekt with zombification.

Hey, let’s compare ULTRA Spec. to Xbox 360 version, then we will talk.
Also, on the highest setting 6 options are disabled, so comparing medium and high setting to Xbox 360 is like comparing medium settings which to be honest is crap with belts and whistles.

The normal maps are still painfully low res, but that’s a common problem due to a lack of video memory in the 360. That’s one thing that console owners really have to look forward to with the next generation (it’s going to be pretty great, guys).

Aside from that, they changed some of the art assets around. I can’t say that the changes are all well-advised, either. It just seems like CD Projekt RED playing up to what people want again, and likely pissing off their own artists even more.

“What you did with the Witcher 2 wasn’t good enough. The people who bought our game say you should do this, and you WILL do it.”

I’ve lost so much respect for them.

And I’m sorry to say it, but some of the art assets are visibly worse. The new opening on a sunny, bloomy day just doesn’t fit the kind of terror they were trying to capture in the original intro.

Those guys must really hate their own artists.

The 360 version would have looked better if they weren’t trying to appeal to the cool kids by changing the art assets around. The more I watch it, the worse it looks. Some parts just look too visually cluttered because they wanted to cram stuff in there just to show how ‘leet’ the 360 version is. And the end result is just messy and noisy.

This is what upsets me about CD Projekt RED, they don’t trust their artists. I have NOTHING against consoles. Nothing at all. I just… dislike how they’re making The Witcher 2 look ever more worse and worse. If you guys had had a direct port, with perhaps the original Geralt in place, then you likely would have had a version that would stand up to the PC one (and even be better in some respects).

    But alas.

stop hating on console peasants, just because our daddies knew how to set up a pc when we were kids doesnt mean theirs wasnt getting drank every minute of the day, regretting life. Not the kid fault.

That’s right; shit parent – kid raised on consoles. Fucking tragic.

@2 Please tell me you’re joking.

We all know the consoles are worse than 5 year old computers at this point, in terms of power. They’re just showcasing how much they managed to get out of the game. If you expect ultra quality from an Xbox game, you’ll be looking forever.

Even as a PC gamer, I am very impressed with this. CD Project have done a great job of this.

I liked the new feature in the first scene in the woods, the console version actually looks better than the PC version with the lighting and the textures on the guards armour looks for reason more detailed than on PC. Which is hard to believe. But the rest of the video the PC still wins hands down.

But overall, VERY VERY, impressed :)

With in mind that the X360 is getting realy old im impressed what CD Project have done here.

But the jump to pc is much better, even on medium the pc version looks superior. Cranq it up to max and they are not even in the same league.

But then again a pc to run it smooth on higher settings costs way more then a X360. So the comparison is just wrong if we think like that…

Hope it dont strugle with screan tear and heavy fps drops on the X360, gues we wil find out soon.

@3 & 5, What exactly are you talking about when you mention “art assets”?

“Some parts just look too visually cluttered because they wanted to cram stuff in there just to show how ‘leet’ the 360 version is. And the end result is just messy and noisy.”

    What? They’re almost identical?

The only real difference I can see is the lighting which the 360 is using less of which is understandable because of the lighting it makes some of the stuff look grainy and too static. THere is also the noticeable skin difference between two games and Geralt but I think that’s because of the lighting.

The awful video quality of course helps the 360 version quite a bit (just pause it and look at all the jaggies that are often there… awful, just awful…).
There was already a comparison with much better quality which I unfortunately can’t find any more, where all the expected stuff like lack of texture detail, low drawing distance, etc. was even more apparent.
