Lionhead and Random House to release Fable novels and digital shorts

Lionhead Studios and Random House have announced an agreement to create a "broad line of products set to expand the universe of Fable", via two novels, multiple digital shorts, a world bible, and a strategy guide.

The first novel, Fable: At the Edge of the World, written by author Christie Golden, will bridge the events of Fable III and Fable: The Journey. It is slated to release in August.

Prior to the novel’s publication, three digital shorts written by author Peter David will be released, and will focus on characters from the Fable universe. Each of the following shorts will be available on all major e-reading: platforms, and release as follows:

  • FABLE: REAVER – May 2012
  • FABLE: JACK OF BLADES – May 2012
  • FABLE: THERESA– June 2012

The internal IP bible for the Fable universe, which is also in the works, will be "a living document" covering previously-released Fable products and is described as a "comprehensive reference for any creators working in the Fable world."

More details on the content and publication dates of the second novel as well as the Fable: Journey Prima strategy guide will be revealed in the coming months.
