The Gameological Society founded, involves Eurogamer vet John Teti

Eurogamer vet John Teti has popped up on a new gaming site called The Gameological Society, a partner site of The A.V. Club, which will have a “similar editorial direction and tone” to the later. Both sites are members of the Onion family. The site is self-described as “an independent-minded online magazine that explores games as works of art and pop culture,” and informed by “a passion for play and grounded in a broad cultural awareness.” With Teti involved, it’s bound to be witty. You may wish to check it out.

Teti’s a top man. I do like the EG podcasts, but Teti made last year’s EG E3 podcasts sound like the absolute best of Radio 4. Intelligent, funny and professional, I hope he does really well with the site.

The site’s design puts me off. It’s like a hipster blog. It dedicates too much space to pointless header images.

Jesus. Yet ANOTHER intelligently written, insightful games site with an intellectual bent?

There just aren’t enough hours in the day.
