WRC 3 announced for October 2012 release

Black Bean has announced WRC 3 as the official game of the 2012 FIA World Rally Championship.

This is going to be the third entry in the WRC racing series and is the sequel to last year’s WRC 2. Black Bean described the new entry as a “radical departure” for the franchise.

The game’s being made using a brand new game engine created in-house by developers Milestone and promises advanced lightning, crowd and particle effects.

It will feature more than 50 official WRC teams and all the tracks from the 2012 calendar, with gameplay being streamlined “to allow new players instant gameplay satisfaction, while still allowing experienced rally gamers to explore the game’s full range of features.”

The game is in development for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation Vita and will be releasing in October 2012.

I wish DICE would make another Rallisport Challenge.

This is gonna be shit. Dirt is gonna be shit.

Racing has to be the most pitiful, tortured genre at the moment. It’s like adventure games before they died.

@8 Pretty sure you’re wrong.

It was made by a little studio called Digital Illusions CE.

(DICE for short)

Microsoft does own the IP though, not EA.
