The Last Story’s US release to be a limited print run

North American fans after a copy of The Last Story may want to go ahead and pre-order soon – as publisher XSeed have indicated the game will have a limited print run when it launches on the continent.

“We do anticipate a limited run for the game as we already have a number in mind of how many units we can expect to sell of this title, and all our pre-production efforts will be geared towards being able to manufacture a final number somewhat close to our initial estimated number,” Ken Berry, Director of Publishing at XSeed told IGN (via GoNintendo).

“It’s too early to start thinking of doing additional runs, but as a general policy we haven’t been very active on doing reprints of our other titles so far.”

Europeans were lucky enough to have access to a fairly lavish special edition of the Wii RPG, the latest from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi – but Americans may have to fight to even get the game itself. XSeed also explain in the interview that they’re looking into the prospect of a US Limited Edition package.

Nintendo published the title in Europe but passed on a US release. It’s the second in a trilogy of Wii RPGs that Nintendo of America has at least initially shunned, alongside Xenoblade Chronicles and the upcoming Pandora’s Tower.

Destructoid points out that Metroid Prime Trilogy, another limited print Wii title of interest to the core gamer market, now fetches hundreds of dollars on eBay. Might want to get those pre-orders in, then.

The Wii is quietly building a few very good jp core games. Funny tho, almost zero talk about this or even Xeno. Good games, the both of them.

Last Story is not so good. Nice characters and some good ideas gameplay-wise, but it’s very bland and confined.

#2 For me the best JRPG, and i dare to say the best RPG of this gen is Xennoblade chronicles, for me is in the top three alongside with crhono and FFVII, surpassing dark cloud 2, although it is a reallly close call.

I agree to some extent, its really well done. I just find it sad that a CoD map pack gets more coverage. And the same people will jump up and claim that Wii is a casual only system. Despite the system being home to some of the best games(casual or not) this generation. Of course thats just my opinion.

OG, i think this problem will keep happening again with every each generation, and it doenst matter what games appear on their system, it will always come to that, and i mean that nintendo is only for children and for that is focus on casual, and i belive nintendo has some fault in this, for example the gamecube design, but in in my opinion is also the competitions fault too, they put this label on most of the gamers conciousness since the mid 90´s, one that still holds to this very day, if you look some of the games that did hit the nintendo consoles since the N64 days, you will find a lot of games that are really great and they were directed at the mature audience, even the mario games, that can be see torwards children, it is also done with the avid gamer in mind, collectiong all the stars required a really well prepared gamer with a lot of expirience, therefore even the most “childlish” looking nintendo games, are really done with the avid gamer in mind, and something that the avid gamer can really enjoy.

Take a look at the Ds for example, it is home to a strong list of games targeted at the avid gamer, but still holds the torch for being kiddy, and of course this applys to the 3DS as well, and keep in mind this is the market where nintendo is the most strongest, the handheld, but it cannot escape this issue either.

The sad thing is most of the gamers from this period in time, really dismiss all this good games, and dont give nintendo the proper chance, i think is cool to hate nintendo, and rather uncool to be a gamer that plays nintendo games or systems, and keeping in mind that some nintendo games really deveserve to be played by all gamers not matter their age.
