Heroes of Ruin developer finds working with Square Enix "nerve-wracking"

N-Space's Tim Schwalk has learned a lot from working with the RPG specialists at Square Enix on Heroes of Ruin.

Speaking with CVG, Schwalk joked about the pressure of crafting an RPG for a publisher so well known for its own efforts in the genre.

"Extremely nerve-wracking, but I try not to think about it," he said, before detailing how the collaboration has benefitted N-Space.

"[Square Enix has] taught us the importance of ensuring the user experience is great throughout. It doesn't matter if you have an epic story or exciting boss battles if the menus are confusing or controls aren't streamlined.

"They've definitely helped us craft this game into something we're all very proud of."

Action RPG Heroes of Ruin is expected in northern spring, exclusively for 3DS. It has drop-in multiplayer as well as a number of StreetPass and SpotPass features and 80,000 weapons.
