Auditorium: Duet Kickstarter reaches goal just in time

Auditorium 2: Duet, which looked likely to falter in the final days of its Kickstarter campaign, has inched past its target.

Cipher Prime is understandably relieved and elated by the last minute success.

"There are not enough exclamation points in the world for us to give to you," the developer wrote in a project update.

"We're going to make Auditorium Duet for you, and it will be awesome, and we truly, truly, truly owe everything to you guys. Thank you to all of our long-time fans and people who've only just heard of us."

Auditorium 2: Duet has under three days left to run, and as recently as yesterday was expected to miss its funding goal. At time of writing, the project has 1,646 backers and has amassed $60,162; an average donation of over $35 each.

Although several media outlets - including VG247 - have carried reports on the project's progress over the past few days, a sudden surge of attention can probably be credited to a Giantbomb feature on Kickstarter's less successful stories, highlighting those which haven't benefited from Double Fine's upset triumph.

Congratulations to Cipher Prime - and to all who backed the project.
