Phantasy Star Online 2 to be F2P, gets Android and iOS version
Sega’s announced Phantasy Star Online 2 will be a free-to-play effort, as well as confirming an Android and iOS version

The MMO will be free to download and free to play, with revenue coming from an item transaction system.
Sega’s also announced the game for Android and iOS. Both versions will share data between it and the game on PC or PlayStation Vita, plus offer simple character creation and control systems.
A closed beta will begin late next month in Japan, where up to 100,000 users can take part in the test for playtime of up to 24 hours.
PSO2 is promised for an early summer launch on PC, with the Android and iOS version coming in winter. The Vita version launches in spring 2013.
Thanks, Andriasang.

Damn, i’d honestly rather you at least have to buy the game itself. I want to find my loot, not buy it for real money. My interest in this game has suddenly dropped.

This was a big Trip-A game for me. Bigger maybe then Diablo III on my list of up and coming games. Now Im a bit worried. To say the least.

This is Sega, I trust them to try to be reasonable.
Besides, there have been some pretty good F2P models out there thus far, they’re not all bad.
