NeoGeo X price confirmed at £500

Yesterday we reported that the NeoGeo X was due out later this year.  What we could not confirm was the price.

However, Blaze confirmed to MCV today that the rumoured £500 price is indeed accurate.

They’ve also said that they’re open to the idea of a price drop, which is good because we’re pretty open to that idea too.

what? £500 for that? Obviously they haven’t heard of a PSP which does whatever that thing does, and more. (not legally, but who cares?)

*insert joke about PS3 launch price*

Do they seriously think that it’s going to sell based on retro nostalgia and a 20 games catalog! Man, those guys got some epic rose tinted glasses! :D

This is so depressing, the original Neo Geo Pocket is one of the best handhelds ever created. I was really looking forward to grabbing one of these. :(

Why is this 500 pounds? I can think of no reason.

I really don’t get it. Unless it’s made of gold.

#8 I think is made of palladium instead, if it was only made of gold, it would be cheaper

@9 No wonder, they probably had to spend hours probing planets to get all that palladium!

I dont get it. Why do some companies have such a hard time to price their hardware accordingly?!

Is that just the hardware or are all 20 games included on it somehow?? Even if the games were included, how is decade or so old technology costing almost $800????

Obviously its only for collectors who like themselves to get ripped off.
