Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter releases first backer-only bonus

The Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter project has come to a close, which means those who didn't hand over their cash are out of luck.

In a video update emailed to project backers, Double Fine boss Tim Schafer revealed that the project's final funding total comes to $3,446,371, when taking into consideration those who donated outside Kickstarter to take advantage of premium rewards, which added a further $110,000.

Double Fine will soon be sending login details for the private backer forums, as well as contacting reward winners for details on their shipping addresses and shirt sizes. Schafer asked backers to keep these details private and advise Double Fine if they share any private materials and dob in those who hijack them.

As for the project itself, Schafer said Double Fine needs to finalise the budget - the funding total minus the costs of rewards - before cementing the team involved and kicking into full pre-production.

The latest video update with all this information and more is available to backers on the project's Kickstarter page.
