Majesco revenue up following strong Zumba-led holiday

Majesco revenue for Q1 is up, the publisher's announced, with the company basing the success off a successful Christmas period led by Zumba Fitness.

Net revenues was at $66.2 million for the period, up YoY on last year's $48.5 million by 37%. Operating income was down to $7.6 million from the $8 million the year before.

On a non-GAAP basis, net income was at $7.3 million compared to the $7.5 million in 2011

"Majesco had another strong holiday quarter, with a very large and diverse release slate led by the best-selling fitness franchise on the market. Zumba Fitness 2 for the Nintendo Wii got off to a great start, and we are equally excited about Zumba Fitness Rush, which was just released in February, exclusive to the Kinect platform," said Majesco CEO Jesse Sutton.

Zumba Fitness 2 has now sold 1 million units worldwide since its November release, with new recent launches in the Mama series: Cooking Mama 4 and Camping Mama for 3DS and DS respectively.

Press release is here.
