Mad Dog McCree coming to 3DS

Engine Software is bringing light gun classic Mad Dog McCree to a thoroughly modern platform.

Engine's Ruud van de Moosdijk told Nintendo World Report the game would release "very soon".

"We got in touch with [license holders Digital Leisure] and said you know, Mad Dog McCree, you guys own the license, how about a 3DS version?" he said.

Mad Dog McCree is well known as an release for the short-lived laser disc gaming format, and is particularly notable for its live action sequences. Its reliance on FMV means the 3DS version will not have any 3D features.

"It's all full motion video. There's really no 3D in the 3DS version because how were you gonna do that?"

Mad Dog McCree has appeared on a number of formats and remains a kind of cult favourite. A Wii release went down well enough.
