GDC 2012 attendance hits 22,500, Moscone confirmed for 2013

UBM's announced 22,500 people attended this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

The figure is a 22% increase on last year's 19,000.

The event didn't have a keynote this year in comparison to past years, instead opting for a more subdued experience.

GDC director Meggan Scavio said the event provided the "full spectrum of the game development community".

"The continued growth of the conference is a great indicator of a healthy and exciting industry. We are very proud to provide the forum for game makers to connect, dialogue, showcase, and learn in sessions, summits, expos and pavilions every year."

As previously reported, next year's event will happen between March 25 to March 29. A venue wasn't mentioned at the time, but organisers have confirmed it will return to the Moscone next year.
