Crytek to announce "absolutely fantastic" new project in April

Crytek will announce a brand new and "absolutely fantastic" brand new project next month, its general manager of games Nick Button-Brown has told CVG.

Brown wouldn't be more specific beside acknowledging the project in question is in development alongside 360 Kinect exclusive title Ryse at its Frankfurt HQ and Homefront 2 at its Nottingham studio - nee Free Radical - for THQ.

A job listing appeared last month regarding the German company and its relationship with EA, raising speculation a third Crysis was in the works.

Its also teased on numerous occasions a fourth TimeSplitters game.

"A big part of our business is big budget console and PC games. We are doing all these other things, but they're on top of that and we're doing them because they're interesting.

"We still want to deliver the highest quality that we can, wherever we go. You know about Homefront, you know about Ryse. We are working on another project, all three of which are looking really good."

When pushed further on the subject, he added: "The other project looks absolutely fantastic - I mean, genuinely the best of that kind of project we've ever done.

"It looks spectacular, the team are doing really, really well and it's just really nice to see the team really enthusiastic about what they're doing. They're really happy."
