Konami signs secret project to Zynga's new games portal

Zynga has attracted Konami, Rebellion and Playdemic to its third-party offering on Zynga.com.

Joystiq reports Konami has a project in the works for the new platform, which it has been keeping quiet.

Rebellion and Playdemic's contributions were not mentioned. Playdemic is a social developer owned by RockYou, and Rebellion is a triple A studio. It's products include Neverdead and Aliens versus Predator.

Speaking to GamesIndustry, Zynga platform partners boss Rob Dyer said it expects the service to pull incredible user numbers.

"We poo poo the idea that [CEO] Mark Pincus is talking about a billion people playing and being engaged in games. And the fact of the matter is it's a very strong reality. He's not out there talking pie in the sky. This can happen. We expect it to happen," he said.

"I don't think anyone would've expected 240 million people playing Zynga games. Well, we look at a billion as a very doable number when it comes to what we want to do in the social games space and on the Zynga platform."
