Japanese charts – One Piece and London 2012 top software, 3DS unstoppable

Media Create has released its weekly retail chart and Namco’s One Piece: Kaizoku Musou topped it for PS3 with a whopping 655,77 units moved. One the hardware end, 3DS sales fell again over last week, but the handheld still maintained its number one position on the chart.

    Nintendo sold 80,218 gaming devices
    Microsoft sold 1,248 gaming devices

    It’s going to be interesting to see how Nintendo play there cards over the coming 12 to 18 months.

    Nintendo DS died when 3DS was launched because there technology was too outdated, same thing will probably happen with the Wii.

    I believe both the 3DS and the next gen Wii will hit strong sales in the first year and the second one but what happens in the second half of the consoles life cycle, will we see a Nintendo once again in financial trouble. Smartphones will be more powerful than the 3DS and our next gen games will be playable cross all platform but Nintendo’s.
