Sections now in open beta

Zynga’s publishing platform has gone into open beta, allowing you to get your social fix outside of Facebook.

The service has already attracted over 1.5 million people despite having just five games available – CastleVille, CityVille, Hidden Chronicles, Words with Friends and Zynga Poker.

Any progress or statistics logged in the Facebook versions of the games are carried over to the new platform.

Zynga is slowly switching on new features; currently, players can create a profile, chat, and make friends. This last one is the most important as connecting with other players is a trademark Zynga requirement for progression; interestingly, your Zfriends aren’t added to your Facebook account, so you can retain privacy.

Not really. They’re just relegating Facebook’s cut to ad-revenue only. This is what it’s about.
