Star Wars: The Old Republic Legacy 1.2 update due in April

Tuesday, 6th March 2012 01:32 GMT By Brenna Hillier

BioWare will overhaul Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Legacy system in the next major content update.

Game update 1.2, called Legacy, will allow players to link alts together in a family tree, unlocking and sharing unique Legacy-only abilities. Legacy provides bonuses to companion affection and moral alignment, provides an on-board mail box and Galactic Trade Network terminal, and allows players to unlock new species in any class in their family tree.

Along with the usual bug fixes and balancing, the update also adds more UI customisation options, PvP Warzone Rankings and Guild Banks.

There’ll be a number of new missions, too:

  • Flashpoint: Lost Island continues the Kaon Under Siege Flashpoint from Game Update 1.1 – Rise of the Rakghouls. Players must survive a menacing island of mystery on Ord Mantell as they hunt for clues to the Rakghoul virus outbreak that ravaged the Tion Hegemony. But the answers to this riddle may prove fatal!
  • Operation: Explosive Conflict sends groups of eight or sixteen Imperial or Republic players to a new zone on the planet of Denova, where traitors and mercenaries are selling the rare explosive mineral baradium to the highest bidder. Players will battle through hordes of Droids, mercenaries and deadly creatures all fighting for control of the planet and its valuable resources.
  • Warzone: Novare Coast pits two teams in an epic battle to control multiple mortar locations and use them to bombard vulnerable enemy bases. Like the Huttball Warzone, Novare Coast can be played Republic vs. Empire or with players of the same faction fighting each other in a thrilling contest of wills to determine each side’s greatest champions.

Legacy is due in April.

I just canceled my sub at LVL 28 :( With my friends quitting, and the quests going the “Kill X amount of this mob” routine… I just couldn’t do it.

Already got 3 imps at lvl 50, so i’m ready to start a Sith Pureblood Jedi Knight! ^^

Also, on a sidenote. The GTN for your ship is on of the last unlockables you’ll get, close to or at legacy lvl 50. You’ll also be able to purchase a voice restraining bolt for those pesky ship droids :P
