Ninja Gaiden 3 online pass for multiplayer confirmed

Tecmo Koei has confirmed Ninja Gaiden 3 will require an online pass for multiplayer.

The existence of the game's online pass was outed by a GameFly listing earlier today but the publisher has now made it official.

Online passes are bundles with new copies of games, and grant access to extra content, usually related to online play. Second-hand buyers have to pony up a fee for a new code.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is slated for release on March 20 in the US March 23 in Europe. It is the first game in the series to feature multiplayer, a four-player deathmatch affair using ninpo tricks and techniques.
