Google Play to replace entertainment categories of Android Market

Fire up the Market from your Android smartphone and be introduced to a new storefront: Google Play.

Announced at GDC as the update went live around the world, the new media hub brings together books, games movies and music.

Develop reports any content purchased through the Market will be automatically transformed into Google Play Content.

All Google Play Content will be cloud-based, meaning you can access it any time without having to dedicate memory. Google expects the new service to reduce the "hassle" of multiple media libraries.

Google has also increased the maximum size of Android apps to 4GB from the previous limit of 50 MB.
