New Quantum Conundrum shots have appeared following the latest demo of the puzzler at the Xbox Spring Showcase last week. The game, being made by Airtight Games and Portal co-creator Kim Swift, was confirmed for a European release last week by publisher Square Enix.

Get the shots below the break. It’s out this summer for XBLA, PC and PSN.

As much as I dig the art style of this game, the more I see it, the more it seems like a blatant attempt to replicate Portal’s success and nothing more. Surely, I’m not against innovative first person puzzlers. But it looks like QC has a bullet point list of features that it’s trying to replicate from Portal.

    First person perspective? Check.
Weird and interesting puzzle mechanics? Check.
    Off-beat sense of humor? Check.
    Strange but simple story? Check?

Regardless, I look forward to trying out the finished product. That’s always a good sign.

This have something to do with the fact that it has Kim Swift, who was undoubtedly one of the most important minds behind the original Portal, on board.

Just maybe. Just throwing that out there. :P
