Activision headhunts Microsoft's CFO

Former Microsoft Interactive division corporate vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer Dennis Durkin has left the company.

Durkin had been with Microsoft for 12 years, most recently in the Interactive Entertainment Business group.

Gamasutra reports Durkin will take up a CFO role at Activision.

Activision's current incumbent, Thomas Tippl, will return to focusing on his duties as Activision's COO, after several years of service as interim CFO.

From March 19, Microsoft will replace Durkin with Mitchell Koch. Koch previously served as corporate VP of the Worldwide Retail Sales and Marketing Group for the Entertainment and Devices Division.
