Lord of the Rings Online heads down the Great River

The latest update for Lord of the Rings Online takes the Middle Earth MMO down the Great River. In the latest developer diary, the team takes us behind the scenes on this new zone, as well as highlighting a few extra tweaks they've dished out.

Among other things (spreading vistas, a new reputation faction and elite area, and a new set of quest rewards), the Great River is home to Stangard, the very first Rohirrim settlement. It's packed with unique visuals and the signature architecture that you won't find anywhere else in the game.

Turbine has put a lot of time and effort into putting together each zone, and this time around has detailed the process in case you were curious.

Also for the curious, the new patch notes are out for Update 6, including one memorable tweak: "The sky objects will no longer vanish when you travel to certain instances and then return. Told ya; The sky is not falling. It was just...missing."

Update 6 launches March 12.
