Assassin's Creed III - first shots, art, and details leak

AGB has posted shots of Assassin's Creed III, which we're assuming were leaked out of Game Informer, and now NeoGAF has gone live with what are apaprently details out of the latest issue of the magazine.

According to information posted on GAF, our new protagonist is half-English, half-Mohawk with his English name being Connor. His Native American name is Ratohnhake (pronounced Ra-doon-ha-gay-doo).

We thought he looked a bit Native American.

He was raised by the Mohawk until Colonists burned the village down, and he has sworn vengeance for the injustice.

Both the Colonists and British will have protagonist and antagonistic sides to them and it is set in Boston and New York between the years 1753 and 1783.

The map size will be 1.5 times that of Brotherhood and players will be able to explore historical buildings and reenact events such as the New York fires and Washington's occupation at Valley Forge.

An upgraded version of the engine allows "a couple thousand" characters on-screen at once in order to support such battles.

GI has exclusive month long coverage of the title, which is to be formally announced by Ubisoft on Monday.

Slated for an October release, the game takes place during the American Revolution period, as the GI cover and box art from yesterday revealed.

Go have a look at the screens here.

Meanwhile, the official website for the game has started it's official countdown to Monday.
