Report: GAME-suppliers meeting a "success

A meeting held between GAME and its suppliers has been called a "success," an MCV report has said.

The magazine says the meeting - which we assume was the one held at BAFTA last week - seen a "brave and compelling" speech from GAME CEO Ian Shepherd met with a round of applause.

The meet, where NDAs have to be signed beforehand, seen around 100 execs turn up and hear the retailer's plan on how it would survive.

"It's important that GAME survives and I'm positive we can move forward together and make money from each other," said one exec.

"GAME is not dead and won't be if we all muck in."

One other exec that spoke to the site isn't as convinced, though.

"We all want to support GAME," it said. "But I'm not convinced the plan goes far enough. Some suppliers can't be as flexible as GAME wants if they are governed by Japan or the US head offices."

Shepherd took to Twitter last night to say the retailer and the industry would get over the rough spot its currently in.
