They’re not expansion packs, every game is standalone. Warband is the definitive M&B title, with all the same content and more that was improved over the original in just about every way. So that one is really all you need to get.

With Fire & Sword is basically a total conversion mod some guy made for the original that was somehow chosen to be officially released… Though it has a bunch of added stuff and cool ideas, it’s very buggy and unfinished compared to the official games, not to mention several other, better modifications made by fans. Still worth playing if you’re into the series, but really a major disappointment as a follow-up to Warband.

I love M&B, but it worries me that Paradox has allowed it to enter that bizarre territory Painkiller has been in for years, where they’re just buying up player-made mods and releasing them in an attempt to make some money off of the IP with little investment.
