Johnny Minkley leaves Eurogamer to go freelance

Eurogamer TV editor Johnny Minkley has said on Twitter today is his final day as a full-time staffer at the company, confirming he is to go freelance.

He’ll continue contributing to EG and GamesIndustry.Biz, however.

He said in a tweet: “So, after almost six years, I’m down to my final afternoon as Eurogamer staff! *dramatically shuffles papers on desk*”

Minkley joined as EGTV editor back in April 2006, where prior to that, he edited MCV and CVG. He’s also been BBC Radio 1′s regular games expert.

He is also a VP of UK games charity SpecialEffect.

All the best, fella.

Yeah, saw him announce that on Twitter. 6 years he’s been at EG….

Is there a lot of money in working freelance?
