Wednesday, 29th February 2012 07:22 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Aksys has announced overnight it’s bringing the sequel to 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors to the US. Known as Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, it’ll now also be coming to PlayStation Vita alongside the previously confirmed 3DS version, and will come with dual-language support between English and Japanese, multiple endings and fully-voiced novel sections, to name a few.

Thanks, GoNintendo.

The first game was a great DS tittle, with a gripping story, great graphics in anime style, great gameplay, etc, a great game all around IMHO, good thing that more consoles will have this great series and vita owners should pick this up without any hesitation, i will pick it up for the 3DS just to have the collection on the same console.

That DS title was gash. There was no gameplay to speak of whatsoever. I’m all for a good visual novel, but 999 was not it. Having the player re-read (note: not re-play) 90% of the same tired text in order to get a different ending is not gameplay. Introducing the function of speeding up the rate of text is a crummy “Well done, you beat the game” reward and highlights just how little ‘game’ there is in this game.

Don’t get me wrong, visual novels can be good fun. Phoenix Wright is pretty ok and Hotel Dusk was incredibly absorbing. 999 was dull dull dull.

#2, well i did played hotel dusk and another code, and i think 999 is better than both, but thats personal preferences i suppose, because i like anime and the story was really good remind me a bit of higashi no eden, but i think that hotel dusk graphics were great, i love them too, and the game was great also, i did never played Phoenix Wright though, i cannot comment, but i would love to play this game too, the prices here for this series are really insane like 300$ each game, iam waiting for a 3DS game with a 40$ price tag.

I have to admit that I prefered Another Code over most of the other games that appeared behind it but 999 was still pretty great in a Corpse Party kinda way.

At least now with this news I can import it for my Vita and not have to wait for the EU release which will more than likely be months after the NA one.

    Huzzah for no region locks.
