World of Darkness' "kick ass core team" is AAA sized

Despite staff layoffs and a slowdown of development, CCP is still fielding a full development team for World of Darkness.

"Having rolled over here from Trion and NCsoft myself, the team on World of Darkness is the size of a AAA game team," CCP CMO David Reid told Rock Paper Shotgun of the White Wolf-licensed MMO.

"The company has not been shy about putting its resources there in parallel with Eve and Dust."

"We have a kick-ass core team on World of Darkness already and it’s inspiring to see how much progress they’ve made, ever since we went through last year’s restructuring," CEO Pétursson added.

"There’s no need to worry about World of Darkness. That team is kicking ass and taking names."

CCP's restructuring resulted in the company announcing that work on the much-anticipated MMO would continue at a "much slower pace". Since these new comments suggest a full team is still on board, it's interesting to speculate on how quickly development proceeded before this.

World of Darkness is based on the role-playing license of the same name, and the initial release will focus on vampires.
