Microsoft ignited indie-loving hopes by popping a May 2 release date on anticipated puzzle platformer Fez, apparently purely for the joy of dashing them again.
The release date has since been removed from the game’s Marketplace listing.
“FEZ IS NOT COMING OUT MAY 2nd. I repeat: FEZ IS NOT COMING OUT MAY 2nd. I have no idea where that information came out of but it’s not true,” Polytron’s Phil Fish tweeted in response to the listing.
Fez, which features a unique semi-3D puzzle mechanic, has been on the radar for donkey’s years, and was finally submitted for certification last week. An Xbox Live Arcade release is expected this year, possibly in May, hem hem.
