Mass Effect 3 single-player up to 40 hours long, reviewer claims

An early review of Mass Effect 3 has popped up online, claiming the shooter RPG hybrid is 40 hours long when all side missions are completed.

The review, from German PC magazine Gamestar and summarised on the BioWare Social Network, noted the core campaign is between 15 and 20 hours long.

Other interesting snippets include a total of 90 minutes of cutscenes and at least 100 visible carry-overs form previous saves.

The reviewer noted that the RPG style option feels much more like the original Mass Effect than either Action or Story modes, and that customiation options have been improved, but criticised the game's balancing and level design, as well as echoing complaints of poor textures raised by the demo.

Mass Effect 3 is due in the US on March 6, in Australia on March 8 and in Europe on march 9, for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
