Mass Effect 3 Fight trailer leaks ahead of TV debut

Sunday, 26th February 2012 22:50 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Watch it before it gets pulled and held ransom for several hours.

This live action trailer was supposed to debut during The Walking Dead, as did the Take Earth Back trailer last week, but for those outside of the US, YouTube provides – ahead of schedule.

Mass Effect 3 releases on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 6 in the 6, March 8 in Australia, and March 9 in Europe.

Thanks, Joystiq.

That’s where the DLC dollars are going? Ouch.

What were they going for here. It’s meh. I thought I was watching an advert before the ME3 trailer at first, before the spaceships showed up.

They actually have been putting this out on TV just not in complete form. I have seen the girl watching TV and then seeing the reapers and that is it.

You of all people should know there is a marketing budget that is attached to the development cost. So, “That’s where the Marketing dollars are going? Ouch.”

Wow! Bioware can’t stop creating crap anymore.

Also DSB is right. Phoenix don’t take it like there’s a budget for this and a budget for that. Take it like there’s a huge pool of money (invested and profit) from which they take to make stuff. So instead of spending money on creating this free piece of s**t they could have invested money in making free DLC for us. But why give a f**k about the loyal customer when you can attract more right?

I find it truly laughable that everyone who’s complaining about the day one-DLC think they are entitled to free DLC. And it gets worse when the “loyal” customers join the discussion claiming they are more important than the other customers.

Some people don’t swim in money Vapsyvox. And besides, that is not what I meant.

Marketing for triple A game is always the same cost as the development and they were never going to give the DLC free. When the CE was announced it had said there was a secret character and mission. Nothing of the sort was said for the SE so if you couldn’t see that coming then its your own fault.

@6 It’s not actual DLC though, it’s content that’s being held back from the release.

If it was an actual post-release product that was meant to extend the game, that would be actual value, and thus good faith business. This however, is just cynical calculation. It’s percieved value, or constructed value.

Why give people a full set of characters when you can leave one out and make them pay for that?

If you think that’s great, then you’re certainly entitled to that. Some people would feel made a fool of.

Of course I’m not that interested in ME3, but if I’m going to pay for something, they’re going to have to provide a complete product instead of selling it scrap by scrap, for no reason but to make me pay more for less.
