Aion goes free-to-play in Europe on February 28

Aion will go free-to-play on February 28 in Europe, it's been announced. The change-over will occur simultaneously for the English, French, and German language versions.

After the F2P launch, the team will focus on implementing update 3.0, which is set to go live in the spring.

Those who hold a subscription to Aion with remaining time, and who transfer over onto the the new servers by February 27 will receive six Aion Coins per game day in their account as compensation. The coins can be spent in the item shop starting February 28.

You can download the launcher ahead of the game's re-release through the official website.

Aion goes free-to-play in the US this spring alongside update 3.0.
