Kojipro recruiting for next Metal Gear Solid – first art

Wednesday, 22nd February 2012 03:53 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Kojima Productions has alerted development hopefuls to the possibility of working on the next Metal Gear Solid game, posting what seems to be the first official artwork for the unrevealed title.

“Big Boss wants you,” a dedicated recruiting portal declares, also referencing “the ‘next’ MGS” and “development without borders”.

Kojipro is primarily looking for engineers to work on “the latest Metal Gear Solid targeted for high-end consoles and PC” as well as “next-gen game engine technology for use with the FOX Engine”.

Candidates are asked to front up at the Konami Group booth, #1914, in the Career Pavilion, at GDC, which runs from March 6 through March 9.

Development of a new, core Metal Gear Solid Game had not been official confirmed, with Kojima Productions working instead on a new title codenamed Project Ogre, but Hideo Kojima said he’d “probably have to make” it. One of his ideas for the game before turning attention to other work was to tell the story of the Boss and Cobra Unit during the invasion of Normandy.

The art work, which seems to show Big Boss with some sort of dog – or hound, hem hem – is below.

I remember seeing the dog in that FOX Engine video from some time back. Guess we’ve already seen the game in action (in a way).

MGS is MGS1 (1998), 2, 3 and 4… Maybe a little Peace Walker but that’s it. Damn I hate when good things are forced to be kept alive by becoming ugly monsters. Anyway I could be wrong… a MG1, MG2 remake in a single game would be awesome not to mention that game with The Boss (directed by Kojima) but speak of things like that “REVENGEANCE” and I’ll kill you.

I loved MGS 1, rather disssappointed with MGS2 because of the main character and i just disliked the locations alot, not a bad game by any means. Then came MGS3…LOVED IT!!!!! MGS4…..dissappointed again, it just didn’t do it for me. And i have yet to finish it.

Theres a possibility this new Metal Gear game could be all about the fall of Big Boss. Imagine a game where for the first part you played as Big Boss and for the second part you played Snake trying to take Big Boss down. A show down with Frank Jager could also be part of it. Wild speculation here but this MUST be a thought in Kojimas mind, but after a game like that there would definitely be no more story to tell, the series would be coming the full circle.
