Nintendo confirms acquisition of Paris-based video codec firm MobiClip

Nintendo has announced it acquired Paris-based video codec company MobiClip back in October, a firm which provides video content for Nintendo handhelds. The firm’s tech ensures battery, memory and processor consumption runs at a minimum. Nintendo plans to use MobiClip’s video compression technology for 3DS and Wii U titles, and the teach has previously been used in DS and Game Boy Advance as well as the Professor Layton games.
