THQ has dated Darksiders II for release on June 26 in the US and June 29 for in UK, and has confirmed exclusive unlockable content in return for pre-orders.

US pre-order incentives are as follows:

The Death Rides Pack will be yours if you pre-buy from Gamestop. It features multiple exclusive side-quests in the Maker’s Realm and Dead Plains, which adds an additional two-hours to the game. In it, players will also earn additional experience and loot through aiding an ancient Construct, battling The Bloodless and retrieving Karn’s lost treasure.

The Angel of Death Pack comes from BestBuy. It includes a “unique set of enhanced armor” with an angel-inspired design, as well as a pair of upgraded, matching scythes and a exclusive visual trail for your companion crow, Dust.

Pre-ordering from Amazon will get you the Deadly Despair Pack: this means you’re gifted a faster horse.

The European deals are:

Players who pre-order the game from GameStop locations in Ireland and all GAME and GameStation outlets on the mainland will receive the Death Rides Pack.

Those who who pre-order the game from Amazon UK will get the Deadly Despair pack.

The game will be available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Quests as pre-order incentives are fucking bullshit.

I don’t really give a crap about horses, armour or weapons, but locking 2 hours of game content to a specific retailer is shitty.
