Second dev diary for 360 Witcher 2 released

CD Projekt’s released the second developer diary for the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2. The five-and-a-half minute long video, titled, “The most complex and non-linear story ever told on Xbox 360,” shows the principle writers of the game discussing its story.     That’s a pretty terrible video. Like really bad.

    Still, what they’re talking about is something that I don’t remember seeing in any other videogame. It’s not black hats and white hats like 99,9 of all other games, it’s actually about doing what you can, not just what you want.

    I hope more developers will be inspired by that sort of thing. Kill a puppy/save a puppy morality isn’t just unintelligent, it also paints you into a corner when you’re trying to translate it into game logic.

    Instead of being an actual person you become a cliché. Do you want to live in bandit town, or in goody goody two shoes place? It’s just not interesting.

    It basically challenges the one-dimensional in a way that you might see in the smarter TV shows or movies. It’s just too damn rare in games.
