Mojang: No plans for Vita Minecraft port, Scrolls possible

Mojang isn't too keen on bringing Minecraft to PlayStation Vita, as confirmed in a webchat interview this evening.

Mojang's Daniel Kaplan said that despite the success of Minecraft: Pocket Edition on the Sony Xperia Play, it isn't going to explore the possibility of another handheld version of the game.

However, the studio's very keen on bringing its next game - strategic card battler Scrolls - to as many platforms as possible, including handheld ones. Kaplan said the fantasy-themed title is "definitely coming to touch screens".

Kaplang's also commented about the possibility of third-party published title Cobalt coming to handhelds, stating that's less likely to happen.

"Don't know about that," he said, "the controls don't fit the touch screen."
