Legend of Grimrock opens beta to all comers

Almost Human is offering you the chance to check out the latest build of first-person dungeon crawler Legend of Grimrock

The indie developer has released a compatibility build designed to test the game’s performance on various hardware configurations.

In order to get a broad range of responses, the build is freely available for a limited time – good news for those without a spot on the closed beta. A torrent file is available to help you grab the client faster.

The indie project sports some impressive 3D graphics, but traditional turn-based gameplay; check out the beta trailer for a better idea of how it goes down. Release date has not been nailed down yet, but development is close to complete so cross your fingers for the next few months.

Just a precision: This is just a compatibility test. There is no Beta, and this is not playable. This is just a scene rendered to test the engine on a wide range of PCs.

Also looks like they took it down… I bet there was an overwhelming response due to sites like this completely misinterpreting what it was and getting people’s hopes up. *grumble grumble*
