Japanese analysts expect FY2014 launch for MGS5

Konami will drop Metal Gear Solid 5 for a fiscal 2014 launch, according to one Japanese firm.

Nomura Securities reckons the next in the series will come between April 2013 and March 2014, though it’s unknown if it has insider knowledge or it’s just guessing.

The firm reckons the publisher will bring in earnings of ¥60 billion during the FY, with much feedback coming from Nomura following a strong performance on the social gaming side.

Konami has yet to announce MGS5, but hints on where it could be set and its main character have already been teased by Hideo Kojima. In the meantime, it has spin-off Rising from Platinum Games due this year.

Thanks, Andriasang.

“Spin-off” that’s the word for that Revengeance thing. MGS5… it’s a good number to end it all finally. No more MGS after that one I hope… well, maybe MG and MG2: Solid Snake made one single awesome next-gen game, but that’s it… and maybe 20 years from here a total remake (directed by KOJIMA, no other) for MGS, MGS2: Sons of Liberty, MGS3: Snake Eater and MGS4: Guns of the Patriots using one only, amazing, evolved, unique, perfect format… but that’s certainly not going to happen.
