Bigpoint tots up 250 million players

Bigpoint has passed a significant milestone across its catalogue of free to play titles.

The Battlestar Galactica Online and Drakensang Online publisher now boasts over 250 million registered players, and claims to attract more than 250,000 new users every day.

As part of the celebratory announcement, Bigpoint tipped its 2012 hand, promising to reveal "a series of new launches" including "new titles that leverage world-class Hollywood intellectual property".

Bigpoint has been in operation for a decade now, and has over 60 games on its books. The global company was birthed in Germany and still maintains a development studio there, but really took off after opening a US office in 2010.
