Indy title Ibb and Obb gravitates to the PS3

Indy game developer Richard Boeser announces new information on his gem of a side-scrolling platformer, along with a new gameplay video to whet your appetite.

First displayed in 2008 at IndieCade, the International Festival of Independent Games, the so-far largely unknown Ibb and Obb has now been given the release date of the second quarter in 2012. The initial release is slated to hit the Playstation Network, with a PC version to come soon after.

In what seems to be a beautifully stylised game at first, this newly released video now demonstrates just how interesting the game play itself will become. Designed around co-op interaction within a split world, complete with their own gravities, two players will bounce and leap through numerous areas. The calming colour palette and matching music, simple as they are, perfectly match the elegance and simplicity of the play style of this platformer.

Whilst the release will be focused on local co-op, plans are afoot to provide network based co-op action as well. From what we've seen and heard so far, this one could easily become the next big sleeper hit for the emerging Indy market.

Thanks, Joystiq.
