Call of Duty dethroned as UK's biggest entertainment property by Adele

Call of Duty's status as the UK's biggest entertainment property is no more.

Last year's Modern Warfare 3 was second in the top 40 biggest entertainment properties, standing behind Adele's 21. The Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer shooter sold 2,814,609 units in the UK compared to 3,924,985 sales of the singer's second album, a difference of over 1 million.

The Call of Duty series as a whole has had the top spot in the chart since 2009 with Modern Warfare 2 and held onto it in 2010 with Treyarch's Black Ops.

Other games on the top 40 list include FIFA 12 at four, Battlefield 3 at 11, Zumba Fitness at 16, Skyrim at 18, Just Dance 3 at 30 and Assassin's Creed: Revelations at 32.

A full list of the top 40 is over on MCV.
