First Sonic 4 Episode 2 trailer confirms Metal Sonic, Tails
During the holidays, Sega got official about the next episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 with a brief teaser trailer.
Episode 2 is due on the PSN, Xbox Live Arcade, as well as iDevice, Android and Windows Phone 7, during 2012.
No firm dating is to be had, but the usually reliable Korean Game Rating Body got the jump on Sega’s announcement by evaluating the game in December, so you probably won’t have long to wait.
Sega Europe boss Mike Hayes has been promising news of the next episode since August, after admitting a few months earlier to “quality issues” with the first one.

I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that it’s supposed to be Metal Sonic, not Shadow in that trailer.
Which I guess would make sense, since Metal Sonic hasn’t really made much of an appearance in recent Sonic games except Generations, so it would make more sense to call his return a “rebirth”.
