UMvC glitches go monochrome, reverse controls
Shoryuken has posted a tutorial showing off how to trigger a couple of interesting bugs in UMvC. By combining Morrigan and Strider’s abilities, you can end up with one character alone on screen, turned 90 degrees to face the camera. Fiddle a bit more, and you can make the screen go black, and finally, your characters will be transported to what’s being called Reverse World – all controls backwards, animations on the wrong side, and a snowy-white environment. The glitch reportedly works only on the Xbox 360 version, with the PlayStation 3 just throwing a wobbly.
Hit the break to see it in action.

Quick Quotes – How EA influences BioWare’s development
“A lot of people might assume that the way that EA might be an influence on BioWare would stem from a purely executive level, but that’s untrue. You might expect some collaboration with DICE (to do with sound) for example, but in terms of online features we liaised with the Need For Speed guys. Working with teams like that is as easy as making a phone call.”

Zynga lowers valuation to $7 billion ahead of initial public offering
Zynga is seeking a $7 billion valuation for its initial public offering, which is down $10 billion from previous reports, with analysts agreeing the firm’s initial valuation was too ambitious and that the company should wait until it releases its Q4 financials. Sources state the firm will announce a price on December 15 and that the social game publisher could net around $900 million based on 100 million shares hitting Nasdaq at $8 to $10 each. If the firm hits the stock market at $7 billion as reported, it will put it in third place behind juggernauts Activision and EA, which hold a market value of $14.2 billion and $7.7 billion, respectively. Zynga is expected to hold an investor’s presentation next week. Via IndustryGamers. Thanks, Colin Gallacher.

Quick Quotes: Ken Rolston says he’s still confident in the single-player market
“I think what a single-player game is, it is a tailored experience for the single-player, and there may be publishers who are rightly aware that if you had more multiplayer stuff in it, they would have some virtues, but I know that the single-player game experience is the one that we can best tailor to the player right now and that there are technical and asset reasons why we can’t gracefully make them all go co-op player or multiplayer. So for the short term, I believe the single-player game has an unambiguously solid market. There are people who prophesise that they’re going to make their MMOs better narrative experiences. I’m sure that they’re right and I’m sure that they will only make them, say, 5% better. And that’s still not like 100% it’s all about you, Mr. Player. I’m pretty confident single-player still has a real big market. – Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning’s Ken Rolston to Industry Gamers.

BBFC lists Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition for February release
The BBFC has outed Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition with a rating listing, and states it will be release on February 17. Formats other than Xbox 360 weren’t listed, but surely it will be released on PS3 as well. Also, considering it’s called the Komplete Edition, much to the chagrin of our spellcheker, like Eurogamer, we’re going to assume it includes all DLC released to date. We’ll send Warner a mail and ask.
