Plants vs Zombies coming to PS Vita

Sony’s confirmed confirmed in a tweet that PopCap and SOE is bringing Plants vs Zombies to PlayStation Vita. In a tweet, it said: “Surprise! Plants vs Zombies is coming to PS Vita. Thanks @popcap@SonyOnline.” And that’s that.

Child’s Play hits $1.5 million in donations for 2011

Child’s Play has hit reached $1.5 million in donations for this year, the charity has said, with an aim to hit $2 million by the end of the year still on. The group, formed by Penny Arcade, has made $10 million since it was created in 2003. The main aim of the charity has been to provide games and toys for children’s hospitals in the US. Donations can be made here.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss – 15 mins of gameplay action

Sony’s shown off about 15 minutes worth of Uncharted: Golden Abyss, showing off some of the touch screen and touchpad capabilities for solving puzzles and climbing that I got to try with the game back at gamescom, as well as using traditional controls. Golden Abyss, made at Sony Bend, will be a launch title for the handheld when it releases in Japan on Saturday and in Europe and the US on February 22.

Modern Warfare 3 update fixes lag, launch glitches

Infinity Ward has released a new update for Modern Warfare 3, promising to fix lag, balancing several weapons and more. IW community manager Rob Bowling, fresh from escaping a teabagging at the VGAs over the weekend, also promised the latest update would help prevent stat loss when a particular player loses connection from a match.

Mac App Store dishes out 100 million games

Gamasutra reports Apple’s Mac App Store, which services the company’s OS-X based computers, has doled out 100 million games since its launch in January 2011. Although the store’s performance is tracking far behind the iOS App Store, Apple has described it as “the largest and fastest growing PC software store in the world”, presumably putting it ahead of the likes of Steam – although the App Store has the advantage of offering non-gaming software, too.

Konami has launched a new website for Metal Gear Solid, sporting an interactive “Saga” section. As detailed in the explanatory video, fans can browse the franchise’s convoluted timeline, commenting and sharing individual elements, and even adding their own memories including images.
