Fruit Ninja Kinect free Christmas DLC out now
If you’re still addicted to slicing up all manner of colorful produce, then you’ll want to swing on over to Xbox Live to pick up your free Fruit Ninja Kinect Christmas DLC.
The content pack expands Halfbrick’s ultra-popular opus by adding in the ability to turn your body into something like a snowglobe, as well as other holiday-themed surprises like a candy-cane slicing blade. It’s a shame there’s not more gameplay content, but you can’t argue with free.

Marathon 2 now available on iOS, free
The classic Bungie Macintosh first-person-shooter Marathon 2: Durandal is now available for free on iOS. Any iOS device newer than an iPhone 3GS will be able to experience a true classic, and the predecessor to Halo.
You can pick up the game here. The game itself is free, but offers a few bonuses via in-app-purchase like HD textures. This isn’t just a slipshod port either. It offers GameCenter support as well as support for Joypad.

Report: Doctor Who title to be part of Vita launch
The recently-announced Doctor Who game, subtitled The Eternity Clock, will be a launch title for Vita in the UK in February, MCV‘s reporting. The game, which is being made by Supermassive Game and stars Matt Smith and Alex Kingston in their respective roles as The Doctor and River Song, is also to get a PS3 and PC release.
Vita launches in the UK on February 22.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 video and screens do monster mash
Square’s released a video showing the ability to capture monsters for use in future battles in FFXIII-2. This is the first time monsters have been available for use in this way in an FF title. Each monster has a specific role to play in combat, and there are over 150 to collect. And every one of the little guys can be developed and levelled, too.
Below. The RPG ships in Japan today, January 31 in the US and February 3 in Europe.

Nintendo brings Eurosport App to 3DS eShop
Nintendo’s announced the release of the Eurosport video player, enabling users to watch 3D sports content on the device. Videos will go live weekly from today, 2-3-minute snips taken from Eurosport’s WATTS program. The collaboration between Nintendo and Eurosport was announced at the 3DS European Showcase back in January in Amsterdam.

Hirshberg, Jaffe, Xbox creator to speak at D.I.C.E.
D.I.C.E. organisers have announced that Eat, Sleep, Play head David Jaffe, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg and Xbox creator Sheamus Blackley are all to speak at the development event in Las Vegas next February. NPD’s Anita Frazier and Texas Instruments executive director Delores M. Etter will also give sessions at the event. Tomonobu Itagaki of Valhalla Game Studios, EA’s Richard Hilleman and Epic’s Tim Sweeney, as part of his AIAS Hall of Fame acceptance, are all also due to give speeches next year, as previously confirmed.

Gravity Rush pre-order box suggests December 27 demo launch in Japan
A pre-order box for upcoming Vita action effort Gravity Rush has indicated a demo of the game will launch on December 27, more than a month before the full banana – being made at Studio Japan by Silent Hill and Siren creator Keiichiro Toyama – launches in Japan on February 9. Sony is yet to confirm the news.

Company boss Sam Houser said in a release this afternoon the firm wanted to “deliver the same sense of freedom that made the original so groundbreaking” with the mobile version. Report: 360 design boss takes new role at MS
Don Coyner, the man behind the design of Xbox 360, has left his post as lead of the design and experience group for Xbox, according to Cnet. Coyner has taken a new position inside Microsoft, according to Cnet sources, but it isn’t specified where that is. His replacement for the D&E Xbox group is Emma Williams, who is responsible for the recent Xbox Dashboard redesign. Coyner was mentioned in VentureBeat writer Dean Takahashi’s book ‘The Xbox 360 Uncloaked’ as having pushed for a “whole user experience to be consistent, like an Apple product.”
