Mysterious Atlus title is the fourth in a series
Atlus has added another clue to its slow tease of information regarding an unannounced title. The latest tidbit suggests we’re looking at the fourth entry in a series – this probably rules out Gungnir, which was itself the ninth entry in a series. So far all we know is the game’s title begins with G and ends with R, and that it could be classified as a strategy RPG. Siliconera has its money on PS2-era TRPG Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of the Time.

Report indicates next-gen Xbox coming 2013, design lead swapped
A report by CNET.com has indicated that the next generation Xbox console will be arriving in 2013, citing unnamed sources. It’s far from an official confirmation, but as Brenna pointed out yesterday, a much better guess than 2012.
There’s also word today that the design lead on the Xbox 720 project has been swapped. According to CNET, Don Coyner (the past lead) has been replaced by Emma Williams who was part of the team that just revamped the Xbox dashboard. She was officially “general manager of Xbox experiences.”

PS Vita spotted in the wild, caused by shipping mishap
Most big video gaming launches feature a broken street date of some sort. We’re connoisseurs at this point. This one’s a little different though. One fan has posted pictures of his brand new PlayStation Vita a few days prior to release thanks to a shipping mistake.
There was no ship date on the label for Japanese Twitter user DCengine’s Vita console, and thus the shipping company saw no problem with shipping it right away. As of right now there are no other known consoles in consumer hands. The rest of us are just going to have to wait another few days for that beautiful blue package.

Modern Warfare 3 is Redbox’s #1 rental of 2011
Automated video game and DVD rental service Redbox has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the number one most rented game in all of 2011. Which is an impressive feat considering it’s only been out for a month.
The company made the announcement as they released the full Top 10 list of their most popular rentals. The list, though topped by the obvious winner in MW3 (Xbox 360, the PS3 version was #5 as well), is full of surprises. Notably, the Xbox 360 dominates the list while PS3 only appears once. Check out the full list after the break, and you can view offerings available through the service on its official website.

PSN game Malicious finally getting English version
Last year, a gorgeous PSN game called Malicious was released in Japan, but it was unknown whether the game would ever make its way to North America or Europe. Finally, today, Siliconera spotted a listing on Korea’s Game Rating board for an English language version of the title.
Malicious stars a character who carries a cloak that can be transformed in different varieties of weapons, and is used to fight enemies. The high-flying, fast-paced action combined with the transformable cloak makes this game highly reminiscent of Bayonetta. There’s no word yet on a release date, or any other information about the title. Other than that it’s drop dead gorgeous. Especially for a downloadable game. Gameplay video after the break.
